TCNJ’s annual Day of Giving will be Thursday, November 1st!
Like last year, TCNJ’s Bonner Community Scholars will be one of the featured programs you can choose to support as part of the Day of Giving. We hope you’ll consider supporting TCNJ Bonners to ensure we can support the students, staff, and programming Bonners have been doing in the greater Trenton region for more than 13 years!
Housed in TCNJ’s CELR Center, the TCNJ Bonner Community Scholars program is comprised of 90+ scholars who receive annual academic scholarships in return for providing at least 300 hours of service and community engagement, including projects and activities that directly serve individuals and build the capacity of area non-profit organizations. For more information about what we’ve been up to, visit here!
Why support the work of the Bonner Community Scholars? Currently, Bonners collaborate with 15 non-profit organizations that work on issues of hunger, environment, homelessness, education, immigration and abilities. As a group, Bonners complete over 27,000 hours of service every year, and mobilize at least 1,200 First Year students at TCNJ to complete an additional 10,000 of service. The TCNJ Bonner program creates unique opportunities for students to engage with the community, learn about social issues affecting people locally and regionally, and provide support to meet community-identified needs.
With more than 90 Bonner Scholars each providing 300 hours of service, they seek to fulfill TCNJ’s mission of sustaining and enhancing communities our students and alumni live in.
The link to contribute will go live on November 1st and will be posted here. Until then, you can visit TCNJ’s Day of Giving site for more information!
